Technical FAQs

1Who will host my website?
Your website will be hosted by experts in managed WordPress hosting, WP Engine.
2Do you support e-commerce and multi-sites?
Please contact our support team to tell us more about your site and requirements as complexities for e-commerce and multi-sites can vary significantly from site to site.
3My site uses wordpress.com, can I still sign up?
WordPress.com is a fully managed WordPress hosting solution operated by Automattic Inc. that stands apart from the WordPress.org self-hosted model. If you would like to use our services then we would need to migrate your website over to our platform.
4How do your visitor limits work?
As we are hosting websites on the WP Engine infrastructure we have to review visitor numbers regularly to ensure that we do not incur additional overage charges as outlined by WP Engine here: https://wpengine.co.uk/overage-pricing/ As part of the essentials plan we include a 50,000 visitors per month limit by default and 80% of our customer sites are below this limit. Only 20% of the sites we host require a higher usage banding. WP Engine states that they will apply $2 per additional 1000 visitors over the allowed and agreed usage limit. WP Engine has its own mechanism for counting visitors and it might differ from e.g. Google Analytics, although Google Analytics should give you some idea about how many visits your site gets every month. After the first month of hosting your site we will have a better understanding of your website visitor numbers as counted by WP Engine and we might have to adjust your included visitor numbers accordingly. We will contact you as soon as we notice that your site might not fall within the purchased visitor banding. Finally, using a CDN or website firewall are ways to reduce server traffic and this can help avoid or reduce any overage charges.
5What will happen when I want to make changes to my website myself?
You will be able to make changes to your WordPress site yourself or you can contact our support team who can assist you with your changes and discuss support hour bundles.
